Description
This new system is designed for vessels with main engines from 500hp to 800hp. This system allows the raw water to be flushed from the cooling system of motors of this size with the use of two fresh water hoses from the marina feeding one motor at a time.
The procedure is the same as the smaller systems but with a larger flow of fresh water to the motors.
When your voyage is complete and you have returned to the marina, connect the two hoses to the installed Inlet Basin for the appropiate motor and turn on the fresh water. Allow approx 1 – 2 minutes of flushing with the motors running at idle. Turn the motors off and allow the fresh water to continue to flow to back flush the sea strainer to remove any sea weed or jellyfish you might have picked up during your voyage. This also allows the fresh water to make its way to the sea cock and stop any barnacles encroaching into the raw water system.
Carry out the same procedure for the remaining engine.
Engines can be cleaned and descaled using our CFS (Clean Flush Soak) Descaler without the heat exchanger removal. This will bring the engines back to manufacturers specifications for the cooling system on the raw water side.
The system will remain salt free until the next time the main engines are started.
The DB2250 is for 2 1/2″ raw water inside diameter hose and the DB2300 is for 3″ inside diameter hose.
We also have an appropiate Fresh Water Flushing System for gen-sets and airconditioners.
